Raw Sesame Chocolate Halvah

By Sharon Labchuk

This halvah takes just 10 minutes to make — perfect for last minute potlucks or a quick healthy fix for chocolate addiction. It can be flavoured any number of ways using whatever you like — spices, vanilla, ground pistachios, coffee, orange blossom water.

  • 1 cup sesame seeds
  • 1 Tbsp. raw organic cacao powder
  • 1/8 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 Tbsp. organic honey (or to taste)

Grind the seeds into a fine meal using whatever you have on hand — blender, food processor, mortar and pestle, poppy seed grinder.

In a bowl use a fork to mix in the cacao power and cinnamon, then the honey. Mix well and knead a bit until it all sticks together. Roll bits between the palms of your hands to form small balls. To keep for later, refrigerate or freeze.
